Eat Fruit: This is a well-known constipation remedy that also happens to be delicious, unlike the flaxseed option above! Fruits can help you pass your feces with ease because almost all fruits are natural laxatives if they are eaten in high enough quantity. Apricots, prunes, or any other kind of tropical fruit are great sources for constipation remedies, and they’re not too hard to eat either. It’s never a bad decision to grab a bowl of fruit and start chomping down when you’re experiencing constipation.
Some of the most popular fruits to eat during constipation that were not mentioned above are figs, grapes, bananas and pears – with bananas being the most popular. They calm the stomach and can help your bowel movements become regular once again, which is the desperate wish of anyone suffering chronic constipation.
Other Recommendations: These constipation remedies are still diet-based, but don’t fit into any well-established category. First, apple cider vinegar has been shown to have great effects against constipation, primarily because it has a lot of fiber dissolved into it. Just mix a few spoonfuls into water along with your other remedies and you should start seeing relief pretty soon.
Lastly, castor oil works well. This oil can help to lubricate and loosen your stools, making them far easier to pass without causing any pain. Instead of mixing this into water, it’s best to mix it into a full glass of milk. Be sure to heat the mixture before you drink it, because it will mix together better and be received better by your gastrointestinal tract.
Remember, don’t do all of these at once – that might shock your system and cause more problems than the constipation itself! Rather, try these one at a time and see if they work for you.
